World Community Service in our increasingly global village of a world (Formally called International)

The District World Community Service Resource Group wish you a successful and enjoyable Rotary Year 2012-13 and welcomes you to the Committee pages of our District Web site.

Many of you will recognise us as the International Committee, but we are now using the title of World Community Service, which is used within RI, and Resource Group, so as to reflect our role as a part of the District Leadership plan.

Within the current committee we have a wealth of expertise in international projects, including representatives from Hope & Homes, Shelterbox & Jaipur Limb to name but a few.  Please contact the committee if you require advice or assistance with a project as we are a District resource and are delioghted to assist.  We are also pleased to come and present to your Club as a speaker on international topics including projects in the third world ie Africa,  Mary's Meals and Micro-Finance.

We are also pleased to hear about your club projects and thank you to those clubs who sent in their 2011-2012 District International Returns - this is the only way that RIBI can measure and realistically inform the media of the success if Rotaryinternational  projects in Great Britain and Ireland.

The District Web site is being redesigned, and we will keep this section the site as up to date as we can, by providing links to areas of service and other information.

Our District Web Site along with those of RI and RIBI provide a very valuable resource in choosing projects and taking them forward, as well as keeping us informed of what Rotary is doing in World Community Service, of which our own local club projects are an integral part, no matter how large or small.

RIBI produce a series of information sheets which can be accessed here and a list of organisations that Rotary work with on a regular basis.

An important date for your diary:

The World Community Service Rally and Project Fair will be held on Thursday 14th February 2013 at Swinton Masonic Hall, Hospital Road, Pendlebury
