March 2015

Dear Club Sports Officer

Rotary District 1145 Sports Competitions 2015/16 – please read carefully – many thanks!

Firstly, for those of you in the current District 1140, please let me introduce myself as Sports Officer for the new District 1145, ably assisted by your current Sports Officer, Latif Khanbhai. Those of you in District 1250 will hopefully have known me as your District Sports Officer for the past seven years or so.

With the forthcoming merger of our two current Districts, there will, I’m sure, be a few hiccups during the first twelve months of our new District Sports structure, so please bear with myself and Latif whilst we iron these out.

In the first instance, we have decided to simply bring together all the sports competitions from the current two Districts and offer them to the new District as a whole. These are as follows:

Badminton, Bridge, Cribbage, Darts, Dominoes, Lawn Bowls, Pool, Quiz, Skittles, Snooker Singles, Snooker Pairs, Squash, Table Tennis and Ten-Pin Bowling.

With the exception of the Ten-Pin Bowling competition, all of the above will take the format of a straightforward knockout competition (with one home team and one away team in each round) throughout the whole Rotary year (ie. from July 1st through to June 30th), with the exception of the Lawn Bowls competition, which, by definition, will need to be completed during the forthcoming Summer outdoor bowls season.

Please note that there is a flat rate entry fee of
