DISTRICT SHELTER BOX.
The Shelter Box Trust has lent this District a Shelter Box which is available for clubs to borrow for publicity purposes. Availability will be on a first come first served basis, and clubs will have to make their own arrangements to collect and return the Shelter Box.
The Shelter Box consists of a large plastic box which contains a heavy duty tent and accessories to house ten people. The box is very heavy, African women can carry the box for miles on their heads, however Rotarians in this district being more wimpish than African women, find that two or three people are needed to handle the box. The box is much bigger than it appears in publicity brochures so it will not fit into the boot of most cars. An estate car or a large hatchback is preferable.
Any club wishing to borrow the Shelter Box should contact me giving as much notice as possible.
