Rotary Young Citizen Awards

Rotary GB&I Young Citizen Awards 2023
Deadline for Nominations 14th February, 2023

Rotary International in Great Britain & Ireland (Rotary GB&I) celebrates the achievements of young people with these annual Rotary GB&I Young Citizen Awards.

The deadline for nominating remarkable young people for Rotary Young Citizen Awards 2023 is fast approaching so please use this opportunity to nominate outstanding, inspirational, positive young role models in your community.  The deadline for nominations is 14th February 2023.

These Awards are a fantastic opportunity for young people and showcase Rotary at its best, attracting extensive media coverage.

The Rotary Young Citizen Awards were set up in 2006/7 to showcase and celebrate the positive citizenship and important responsibilities assumed by many young people under the age of 25.  An individual or group can be nominated for the award. This can include RotaKids, Interactors and Rotaractors.  Clubs may also be involved in awards for young people locally, perhaps with the local authority, and these youngsters could also be put forward for a Rotary Young Citizen Award.

There is an exciting extra award this year, the Rotary Young Citizen Sporting Hero Award 2023 to recognise the achievements and contribution of an able-bodied or DisAbility sports participant or a group, or an individual or group under the age of 25 who is enabling others to participate in sport.

This year's awards also include the Rotary Young Citizen Peacemaker Award, recognising young people, an individual or group under the age of 25, who’ve made a significant contribution by building peace and understanding, whether in their school for example as peer mentors, local community, or with a peace project internationally.

So if you know of an outstanding, inspirational young person or group whose citizenship and dedication to a good cause, project or projects deserves recognition, please nominate them for a Rotary Young Citizen Award.

Nominees do not necessarily have to be working on a Rotary project to be eligible, they just have to be recognised by a local Rotary club or Rotary District as worthy of nomination.
