Home | Past District Conferences | York 2011

The Conference for 2011 will be in York, one of the world's greatest historic cities.  Many of you will have visited York and you will need no reminding of what is has to offer.  With the economic climate in mind hotels have been booked at as reasonable cost as possible.

The Conference theme for 2011 is "Something old, Something New, Something borrowed, Something blue".  This embraces all the projects that Rotary is, and could be, involved in.  All projects start with a single Rotarian or a group of Rotarians from an individual club and therefore it would be true tosay that all projects are borrowed or even shared.  Before anyone gets carried away blue obviously applies to water and the many projects clubs are involved in with the third wolrd countries.  This only leaves "new" so come to Conference and see what's new for 2011.

Friday' evenings experience will be a first.  The National Railway Museum has been booked for a very special evening of entertainment.  The District Ball on Saturday will be held in the Voltigeur Suite at York Racecourse, another fantastic venue.

York puts great pressure on the Conference Committee to produce a programme which is at least equal to the delights of York.  We are sure that they are up to the task to provide an interesting and stimulating programme
