Resilience

.... is the new "in" word for the ability to recover from an emergency or disaster. Considerable work has been undertaken to network with key members of the voluntary sector and the Cabinet Office to see how Rotary Districts and Clubs in RIBI might dovetail into Resilience Plans.
Rotary's involvement in Emergencies and Disasters now comes under the umbrella of the Resilience Group headed up for RIBI by PDG Tony Parrini (tony@parrini.co.uk, Tel: 01228 674553).

January 2013 update We now have a resilience officer in District 1100 as Kevin Quartley of Bristol South Club has taken on the roll.  Kevin is setting up a pilt scheme for Zone 9 Bristol to allow Rotarians who wish to offer help to their local authorities to be trained by Bristol City Council and join the resilience team.  This will be extended throughout the District so any other Rotarians who wish to get involved or are already involved individually should contact Ken Corrigan .
