District 1190 has shown immense on-going support for the Shelterbox scheme http://www.shelterbox.org
with over half of our Clubs intending to support the scheme in the coming year. Boxes currently cost £590. There is also significant support for Aquabox http://www.aquabox.org which can now contains the modern Aquafilter
devices using membranes. Aquaboxes can be provided in a number of different ways including obtaining a box and filters for £50 and filling it with survival materials.
Less well known in the District is the Water Survival Box http://www.worldwaterworks.org a project of the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge. These boxes at £150 each contain domestic equipment for a family and a water purification box, similar to Shelter box but with a tarpaulin rather than a tent for shelter. There is also a
multipack which provides 5 water treatment boxes but no other equipment at £350.
