Rob Sijstermans will talk about being a Peace Scholar

Robert Sijstermans born in the Netherlands, has worked at university as a research-assistant on Early Conflict Warning with regard to Human Rights after which he started to work for the ministry of Foreign Affairs on Human Rights and HIV/AIDS in Africa.

Later he was stationed in West-Africa for the Dutch Government where he experienced development work through the eyes of different organisations.  Currently working as a policy advisor and coordinating several national and international security related projects. He has been active as a volunteer on legal advice, peace issues and mediation  and  has  a personal interest in the Middle-East, Pakistan/India and Africa.

In the future Robert wants to work in conflict areas and/or international security related organisations together with his wife, an International Health expert. So, in a way, the Rotary World Peace Fellowship also will allow him to pursue their personal dream of working on Conflict & Health related issues abroad.
