The Final was held on 26 February
From our Club competitions the winner progressed via the Area final to the District final which was held on Sunday 26th February at the Edinburgh School of Food and Wine. (ESFW)
The representatives from the Area were:
· Borders Sarah Laing Peebles
· Central Chantrelle McIntyre Livingston
· City No entry
· East Emma Sturrock Longniddry
· West Emma Milligan Shotts & District
· South West Morag MacDonald Newton Stewart
All entrants and supporters gathered for a welcome and initial briefing, followed by a setting-up time that included table settings and organising their cooking area. Details of purchases and receipts were submitted to the Judges.
The following two hours included the preparation, cooking and serving of the meal at the correct temperature. Two servings of each dish were prepared, one serving of the dishes being for judging purposes whilst the second dish was displayed in the serving area for photographs.
Upon completion, The judges, Ian Pirrie, Director of the ESFW and Ian Potts, commented on the dishes presented by each of the contestants. They were very impressed by the high quality and imagination of the food produced.
The winner was Emma Sturrock who goes forward to the Regional Final, along with Sarah Laing who came second.
Trophies and certificates were presented by DG Keith Best.
