Providing mentoring to those that need support

The main strand of the Rotary Vocational ethic is that Rotarians have key skills and experiences to share - particularly with people starting out in their working life or seeking a new start in life.

What can we do to promote Vocation?

  • Facilitate mock interviews or provide a mentoring service
  • Work with school and other institutions on reading and literacy.
  • Take part or initiate a careers fair & workshops
  • Provide work experience facilities or invite business leaders to meetings
  • Create a Vocational Awards Programme
  • Display the 'Declaration of Rotarians in Business & Professions' or the '4 Way Test' in your place of business
  • Register as a Rotary Enterprise Ambassador

Being a Rotarian means that you have Vocational skills and knowledge that is much needed by many people in your Community that need help and guidance for their own personal development.

This may be helping improve their literacy and numeracy skills, it may be to help develop their inter-personal skills, it may be to give career guidance, it may be to help develop a business opportunity ... the list is endless.... but whatever it is we have the skills within Rotary to help.

Currently support is required by ABF The Soldiers Charity but it is anticipated that other organisations wwill be seeking our support in the future

Individual organisations who need support will deal with issues, such as CRB checks, as necessary
