1. Further Achievement Awards for 2011-2012

Immediate Past District Governor Keith has received notification and certificates for a number of awards which clearly demonstrate the quality of Rotary Service within District 1020. These consist of 2 Changemaker Zone Awards, 3 Membership Awards and 1 RIBI President’s Citation Award. See the District website for further details.

2. Health and Safety Policy reminder

A reminder that, as we have now entered a new Rotary Year, all clubs should prepare their Health and Safety Policy and have it signed and dated by the new club president. Click on this link for the District 1020 Health and Safety Policy. You may wish to use this as the model for your own policy. The Health and Safety page on the District website also has links to a Risk Assessment form template, a Risk Evaluation form and an Incident recording form.

3. District magazine 'Rotary for Tomorrow' deadline 
 
The deadline for your district magazine contributions is fast approaching. For the September issue, the last date for receipt of your articles and photos is Friday 3 August.

4. Request for stories - September issue of Rotary's Polio Newsletter

Dear Foundation Chairs and or Club Polio Ambassadors,

Hopefully the start of 2012-13 is going well.
 
RI are looking for stories for the September issue of Rotary’s Polio Newsletter.
 
Specifically, RI are looking for Rotary zone, district, club and individual stories related to fundraising and/or advocacy for Polio Eradication.  If you submit a story please send me as much information as possible with any available jpeg photos.
 
This newsletter is an invaluable tool that maintains Rotarians' focus on Polio Eradication. It is a great opportunity to advertise what you are doing and to 'sell' your achievements.
 
There will be probably similar requests during the year so even if you have nothing to submit on this occasion, please keep it in mind as the year progresses.

6. Rotary Club of Longniddry : partners wanted for Zanzibar Appeal

The Rotary Club of Longniddry is in the process of applying for a Global Grant for Olivia Giles' Zanzibar Project and are looking for clubs to partner with them.

The project is to provide modern machinery which will greatly enhance production of prosthetic and orthotic limbs. The project will also train and educate local staff.
