Support The Wheel Appeal

Haddenham & District Rotary has supported the local charity WheelPower for a number of years. We are now actively helping their Wheel Appeal to help disbled young people to get involved in wheelchair sport 

WheelPower is based at Stoke Mandeville Stadium, the home of the Paralympics. As well as working with elite Paralympic wheelchair athletes, the charity works with young disabled people who are just trying out sport. Sport helps build self confidence and self reliance and, for those who have recently been injured or had spinal surgery, it can play a big part in rehabilitation 

One of the main barriers to trying wheelchair sport is the cost and availability of suitable chairs. Each sport (such as basketball, tennis, archery, rugby, track racing) requires a different design of chair
