Full details of the Rotary Young Musician Competition for 2015/2016
Entering the Competition
Please note that we can only accept one entry from a Rotary entity (i.e. a Club or group of Clubs) in each category at the District Competition.
When you have identified your entrants for the District Competition then send
- the Entry Forms
- the Entry Fee of £TBC per competitor
- three copies of their musical score
by 4th January 2016 to Dawn

or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Hard copy is preferred, as based on experience last year we concluded that emailing the huge files of musical scores created more problems than it solved and resulted in extra printing costs for Rotary.
Please state any special needs and excessive travelling distances. You will be notified shortly before the District Competition date of the running order for the day, but assume that Instrumentalists will be competing in the morning and Vocalists in the afternoon.
After the District Competition
Successful competitors (one in each category) from the District Competition will be invited to enter the Regional event. There, they will compete against other young musicians from our three neighbouring Districts. Details of the arrangements for this event will be notified nearer the date, but assume the format will be similar to the District Competition.
If your Club is fortunate enough to have sponsored a winner at the Regional event, you need to bear in mind the question of expenses if they are to attend the RIBI Final. RIBI and District will assist with these costs, but the allowances are not lavish. This is particularly important if they have an accompanist who is not a family member.
