In late September, Sang Luaia, from Mandalay City in Myanmar arrived at theUniversity of Bradford to begin his Rotary Peace Fellows Programme.Sang is sponsored by Rotary International District 9250 (and, specifically, by the Rotary Club of Marion, Australia). After spending his first week in the UK with local Rotarians Jim and Ele, Sang (and his wife Sangte/Rebecca and eleven month old daughter Vohbik) settled into a new home in Bradford. The new Republic of the Union of Myanmar, formerly Burma, was created in the 2008 Constitution and was implemented on 21 October 2010. Also, on that date, Myanmar adopted a new national flag,  (which replaced the flag in use since 1974). The population of Myanmar is estimated as 49 million (by the United Nations). The last nationwide census was in 1931, with a partial census in 1983. There are about 120 different ethno-linguistic groups in Myanmar. Sang
