Rotary Awareness Month
Dear President
I would like take this opportunity of wishing you and your members a very good New Year and I hope that you are well on the way to achieving the various goals and ambitions you set yourself when preparing for your year as Club President. One of those goals may have been for your club to qualify for a Presidential Citation in 2013-14 and you will recall that there are 3 specific target areas;
Each of these challenges is important to the ongoing success of Rotary and I would urge you to keep your members focussed on achieving these goals over the remainder of our year. So, looking at each in turn;
a) Promote membership growth
I make no apologies in stating that my goals for the year are many and, in many cases, ambitious. However, the primary objective for all of us Rotarians has to be the introduction of new and younger members to ensure we have the resources, vitality and experience to continue supporting those in need in our own communities and overseas. I have said during my club visits that we need to see an average increase of 3 new members per club this year in order to take our numbers back up to the target of 1,500 - a figure I was asked to predict at the RI Assembly in San Diego in January 2013, and that does not include any members we may lose along the way.
