Our Club lends a hand at Borderland's Christmas Parade


In 2005, Borderland Rotary Club took over the organisation of the Oswestry Christmas Parade.

This takes place on the first Saturday in December and announces the arrival of Father Christmas in the town.  Since that time, the event has gone from strength to strength and has become an important feature in the life of the town.

Recent parades have shown a large increase in the number of floats, now in excess of 40, which promises well for the future of the event.  Additional marshalling support is provided by members of Oswestry Rotary Club.

The proceeds of the street collection are distributed to local good causes.

On behalf of Borderland Rotary Club please pass on our grateful thanks for your Club's help in the running of the Christmas Parade last Saturday. It was a fantastic day with a total 60 groups, organisations, individuals and businesses entering in various forms of floats on the day. We have had very positive feed back too.
