2010 BROOM HOUSE FARM OUTING

President Mick and Pam invited us all to join his last Ladies meeting at the Broom House Farm.

Broom House Farm (DH7 6TR) takes a little finding, but if you follow the brown road signs from Witton Gilbert you will find the farm high on a hill looking down on Durham Cathedral in the distance. The journey is well worth while because Jane Gray and her family have developed it into a flourishing organic farm, specialising in premium quality meat which is sold in the farm shop and served beautifully in the cafe/restaurant. Outside are acres of space for various family and study activities.

Following the meal Jane described the ups and downs of its development over the last ten years, from the lows of National foot and mouth disease to the flourishing heights that they have now achieved.
