Donations to Charity 2015
Nearly £14000 was donated to good causes this year
Members of the Melksham Rotary Club celebrated our 2014/15 fundraising achievements on Tuesday 23rd June with some of the representatives of the organisations who have benefited.
The Rotary Club has granted almost £14,000 to 25 different local worthy causes, varying from the Melksham Food Bank to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Most of the fundraising comes from the Art House cafe, though other fundraising events such as the Big Breakfast and Concert with Stonar School have enabled funds to be raised, which have been matched for a project in Senegal amounting to almost £7, 000.
There are around 40 volunteers and Rotarians who take shifts in the Art House café, as it operates 6 days a week. We need 5 volunteers a day, which is 14 volunteer hours and we rely on 30 volunteer shifts a week; this amounts to over 3,400 volunteer hours a year.>Rotary Club of Melksham
