Birstall Luddite Rotarian Robert Jackson the District Rotarian for promotion of Polio eradication gave a talk to assembled Rotarians at Batley Rotary Clubs weekly meeting at Howley Hall Golf Club about the Worlds Greatest Meal and the current world statistics of Polio cases.
Roberts key points were - Nigeria was clear of Polio cases for a year, Afghanistan still had problems 13 cases reported, Pakistan 38 cases this year but that is good in relation to 200 cases last year. Africa and India were free from Polio for a year.

For every pound Rotary commits to polio eradication this will become three pounds, thanks
to a 2-to-1 match from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
As of October 15th 2015. There have been more than 1,682 Greatest Meals events registered in 70 countries. More than 91,000 participants worldwide. USD $1,381,240.69 (£901622) has been raised.a total USD $4,143,721 (£2,704,867) with matching funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.This translates to buy more than 6,906,000 Polio vaccinations.
