Crocus planting scheme for 2016/7
Find out how your club can take part in the Rotary in Britain and Ireland crocus planting programme - help paint District 1200 Purple 4 Polio in 2017.
The Rotary year 2016/17 marks the 100th birthday of our Rotary Foundation. As part of the celebrations of this anniversary, a major initiative is being launched to publicise our flagship programme “End Polio Now”, to ensure that we maximise publicity for Rotary and raise the money to get us over the line and finally eradicate this disease.
Rotary in Britain and Ireland has launched “Purple4Polio” in the recent RIBI newsletter and has in particular details of the new partnership between Rotary and the Royal Horticultural Society for the latest crocus planting campaign, with the target of planting 5 million crocus bulbs for Spring 2017.
This campaign has the full support of the District Executive and we hope that clubs across District 1200 will join in with the planting.
PDG David Yates will be the Polio Coordinator for the District in 2016/17
The final for ordering crocuses is July 31st. To place an order for crocus corms, please contact David Yates
Any enquiries from RHS Bloom Groups or from clubs wishing to partner with Bloom Groups should be also sent to David Yates.
