District Membership Workshops aimed at Strengthening Clubs

Who could have believed our Membership Workshops would be so well attended and well received.  The positive feedback has been unprecedented and the District Membership Team are delighted that over half of the Clubs in District have now attended, with some Clubs coming to both Workshops as different topics were being covered.  All attendees have been treated to some very inspirational and interesting speakers from within our District.  We have heard about the newest Satellite Club in the District, from one of its young members, we heard about Innovative and Flexible Clubs, and discussed in great details the vast array of new opportunities available to all Rotary Clubs to re-vitalise their clubs.  Just some of the comments at the end of the evening are as follows:

It was encouraging - decline is not inevitable

It was thought provoking - what is my club actually like and what could it be like

It was challenging - What changes can  my club make to grow its membership and promote Rotary

Thanks again for a great evening.

'Very good and useful'

'Lots of good ideas to share'

' Very useful and interesting'

'Very useful and insightful.  A great opportunity to network with Rotarians from neighbouring clubs'

'Extremely interesting and we now have some thoughts on how we can engage with change within our Club'

'A very useful evening which confirms all Clubs have similar problems with regard to recruiting, retention and re-vitalisation.  We now have some very good ideas we can take back to the Club'.

As we are all well aware one of the top three Rotary priorities for the current Rotary year is to 'Support and Strengthen Clubs.'  With this in mind, the District Membership, Development and Retention Team are keen to assist all Clubs throughout the District with both retention and recruitment.

As part of our year long programme, we have now arranged a series of Workshops at which you will be able to hear the success stories of other clubs, how clubs operate in different ways, how they have achieved a stronger club, how they have added diversity to both their membership and their meetings.  You will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, find answers, and ask any questions you may have regarding membership.

Each will commence at 7.15p.m. for 7.30p.m. with tea/coffee available on arrival.  We plan to finish at 9.30p.m. promptly.

These meetings are open to all Rotarians in District 1240 and we really do hope you will encourage as many members as possible to attend, but in particular your Membership Chair, President and President Elect.

Please would you advise Pauline Dean on pauline.dean99@googlemail.com who will be attending which workshop, and please could you also give both email and telephone contact details for them.

Pauline looks forward to hearing from you, and all members of the team look forward to meeting up with your members at one of the workshops.
