The 2017 Rotary Club Exmoor Challenge
Supporting the Childrens Hospice South West and Local Charities
TO ALL WALKERS - TS TIME TO DEFEND OUR TITLE
I am writing to invite your club members to take part in the 2017 Exmoor Challenge
Rotarians, their families, and friends from Rotary Districts 1175 and 1200 earn points for their District by completing either a 4.5 or 9.5 mile walk. The route will be starting from Oakford Village Hall EX16 9ER and passing through the beautiful surrounding countryside. The District with the most points will win the Challenge Shield and keep it for a year. The shield is currently held by District 1200 and has been for a while.
Walkers over 18 pay an entry fee of £7. Walkers under18 enter free, but an adult must accompany them. Dogs are welcome, but owners must keep them under control as the Challenge is held in the lambing season. PROPER WALKING SHOES/BOOTS ARE ADVISED.
The Challenge raises money for The Children’s Hospice South West and other local charities by sponsorship and from the entry fees. Last year the event raised £1400 with 120 walkers competing.
I will write again with more details during February with the routes. Information and sponsorship forms will be available from the Exmoor Rotary web site.
Yours in Rotary, Derek Webster, President - Rotary Club of Exmoor
