Apr 2017 Girton Memory Cafe - St Vincents Close Hall

Fri, Apr 7th 2017 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

The Memory Cafe welcomes All. A warm welcome for people with dementia or other problems associated memory loss (and their families / carers). Our seventy-third monthly event. Theme - Springtime and celebrating 100years of Vera Lynn.

Today we had a lovely sunny day to go with our theme of Springtime.  We also were delighted to welcome Sam Clift who, with the aid of his special WiFi gizmo, played us some theme tunes from the past.  It was so evocative to hear such familiar music.  Our bits of culture included Daffodils by Tennyson and snippets from the beginning of Wind in the Willows - when Mole gets fed up with his spring cleaning and digs his way up into a lovely sunny meadow.  Our singers were expanded with Jane and John chiming in and helped to sing such favourites as There will be Blue Birds over the White Cliffs of Dover - to reflect our celebration of Vera Lynn'e 100th Year.

Helpers start at 9am please.
