Purple for Polio

Rotary visit to Scottish Parliament

The three Scottish District Governors, Olive Geddes - 1020, Roddy Duncan 1010, Bill Campbell - 1230, were invited to a meeting of representative MSPs at The Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 8 February.
They were accompanied by other representatives from each of the three districts including End Polio Now Champions and the Foundation Chairmen. The main purpose of the visit was to launch the ‘Rotary Purple Ice Cream’, a product developed by the Rotary Club of Huntley to celebrate the centenary of The Rotary Foundation.

District Governor 1010, Roddy Duncan, addressed the meeting and gave an excellent exposition on The Rotary Foundation and all it has done and hopes further to do. It was quite a revelation to the MSPs who literally had no idea about the charity but who now are enlightened and enthused and want to promote it further throughout Scotland.

The meeting ended with all present sampling and approving the freebies.

Thereafter the DGs and their wives adjourned to a well-known nearby Edinburgh eatery where other liquid and foodstuffs were sampled!
