Flower Festival at St Michael and All Angels Church

To celebrate 100 years of Rotary Foundation, Melksham Rotary Club has invested £1,200 in flowers for Melksham and District Flower Arrangement Society to design flowers arranged to inspire and delight.

Over 50 arrangements were created to fill the church with blooms and colour.  Purple was the main theme through the centre of the church, to reflect the Polio Plus campaign. Other arrangements showed off key Rotary Foundation messages including Peace, Water, Youth activities and Education.

Entry was free, though donations welcomed.  Over 300 visitors were welcomed in the church over the 3 days, with the majority on the Saturday as the church was open all day.  In the evening, 95 people attended the wonderful performance from Chippenham Male Voice Choir - which included their 4 + 1 Jazz Band.

Members of St Michaels church served teas and refreshments during the day times of the festival and it truely became a community event.

After clearing away the flowers from the church, the club was able to donate various arrangements and bouquets to the community to enjoy.

Melksham Rotary would like to thank MDFAS for all their hard work in planning and creating the wonderful arrangements and St Michael's church for their hospitality and support during the event.
