Sun, May 28th 2017 at 11:00 am - 3:00 pm

On Sunday, 28 May, Wimborne will see a World Record attempt involving hundreds of people who will take part in trying to set a new world record for the largest human representation of a text.

This will be formed by people each holding a letter of an agreed message promoting the global ‘Purple4Polio’ campaign by Rotary to eradicate Polio worldwide and it is hoped that it will be the ‘Longest Line of Letters’ to set a new verified world record.

Organised by Wimborne Rotary the record attempt will be based at the Allendale Centre in Wimborne and will form part of a Family Fun Day running from 11.00am. until 3pm. The actual record attempt will be made between 1.00pm. until 2.00pm.

Wimborne Rotary President Sue Young says, “we need members of the public willing to take part to turn up on the day to register”, adding that, “if achieved this record could see the town of Wimborne Minster in the record books”.
