FASHION SHOW HELD BY KNIGHTON ROTARY CLUB RAISES MONEY FOR LOCAL AIR AMBULANCES

On Friday September 22nd at the Knighton Hotel, the Knighton & District Rotary Club held a charity fashion show to raise money for the Wales and Midland Air Ambulances as well as Rotary charities. This was a well attended event with over 80 enthusiastic ladies ( and a few gents ) enjoying the experience and the quality of the clothes. There were good tickets sales both before the event and on the night, and Rotary members were pleased to have the support of County Councillor Ange Williams. The raffle was drawn by Rotarian Bruce Morgan and was well supported, with vouchers and prizes donated by local businesses ( sourced by Rotarian Brian Thompson) and by individuals. These businesses included the Knighton Hotel, the George and Dragon in Knighton, the Milebrook Hotel, and Fishmore Hall in Ludlow. Rotary President Howard Goslyn said “The generosity of these local businesses is much valued and I must also sincerely thank the Knighton Hotel who provided the room to us free of charge”. Howard added “Thanks also goes to Colours Charity Fashion Shows, who provided the clothes and the models, and to members of the Rotary Club that donated prizes, sold tickets, laid out the hall and cleared away afterwards.” The event raised over £650 for the Air Ambulances, for local charities and for Shelterbox who provide disaster relief across the world. Everyone's support on the night is very much appreciated by all Rotary members. You can find out more about what Rotary does by searching “Knighton Rotary” knighton.rotary1150.org
