Technology Challenge 2017

The challenge was to design and build "Tower Bridge" within 5 hours

In our first Technology Challenge Event, eight teams, five from Glossop Community College and three from Longdendale College competed. They had to build a load bearing bridge, based on Tower Bridge, with opening road sections, capable of carrying a weight of 1kg and allowing a model ship to pass underneath

All this created from 20 sheets of 250gm card, 50 straws, 2m of string, 7m of button thread, 11 pulleys, 12 drawing pins and 15 paper fasteners. The winning team was from Glossop School with the runners up from Longdendale School.  Well done all the participants. The winners were presented with their cerficate by the Deputy Mayor of the High Peak, Councillor John Walton.
