Purple Planting in Amersham

Amersham Rotary work with local primary school to plant 2,000 crocuses.

Pupils and teachers from St Mary's Cof E primary school Amersham joined Rotarians from Rotary in Amersham and Town Council staff to plant 2,000 Purple Crocus corms in St Mary's Churchyard Amersham.

The Purple Crocus is a symbol of the campaign by Rotary throughout the world to finally eradicate Polio. So as well as looking lovely in spring it is hoped that the Crocuses will raise awareness of the campaign.
