D1230 Conference Report

District Conference Report

Our Annual District Conference on Saturday 30th September and Sunday 1st October was well supported with 145 Rotarians, speakers and partner attending, and, highly successful, according to the feedback received so far. From the outset there was a good atmosphere, aided by a series of engaging speakers, good food, entertainment and of course fellowship.

In addition to keynote speakers including Ruth Davidson MSP, who spoke about the charity Remembering Srebrenica, the Very Rev Dr Lorna Hood, who told us about her year as Moderator and Keith and Jean Best, who presented on Rotary Peace Projects, some of the highlights of the Conference came from our Rotary Family.

Most in attendance said they were inspired by the presentations from our Rotakids, Interactors and Rotaractors, in addition to some great examples of Rotarians being 'People of Action' from the Rotary Clubs of Ayr and Lochaber.

Everyone enjoyed the Saturday evening entertainment by comedian Iain Gordon and Fabba Abba. There was even a Rotary 'Conga Line' through the hotel!
