Milton Keynes Food Bank

On the 1st November John Marshall from the Milton Keynes Food Bank gave the Newport Pagnell Rotary club a very clear talk on the work that is carried out by the Milton Keynes Food Bank.

John, a retired civil servant, is the Project Manager of this Charity. The Food Bank was set up in 2004, has now been running for 13 years. There is 3 full time paid staff & 70+ volunteers & they have received The Queens award for Voluntary Service.

>The distribution takes place from 2 warehouses to 12 local centres.

Referral Agencies identify families/individuals that need our support & issue a voucher entitling them to a food parcel. They can then collect a food parcel tailored to their needs from a local serving centre.

This Charity receives no government funding but relies solely on donations of food and money from local schools, churches, businesses, organisations and individuals.
