High Standards of cooking achieved at the District Final

One of Rotary’s leading commitments is to offer young people the platforms and opportunities for them to unlock their potential, develop their skills and broaden their horizons.

One such opportunity are the various Youth Competitions offered by Rotary Great Britain & Ireland, including Young Chef.

"Many of the dishes produced today by competitors in the Rotary in Beds, Bucks & Herts, Britain & Ireland Young Chef competition District final were of a sufficiently high standard to appear on the menus of many high end restaurants" says competition judge, Senior Chef Lecturer Anthony Gascoigne, at the North Herts College Hitchin Campus, Hart kitchens and Restaurant.

The winner was Katie Poyner sponsored by the Rotary club of Hemel Hempstead; second place was awarded to Ella Eve sponsored by the Rotary club of Welwyn Garden City and in third spot was Julaika Jabreen sponsored by the Rotary club of Luton Chiltern.

The certificates and trophies were presented by Rotary in Beds, Bucks and Herts District Governor Elect Dave Ford.

The national competition is sponsored by Filippo Berio Olive Oil. https://www.filippoberio.co.uk
