At a recent weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Halifax, past DG Ken Robertshaw was presented with RI’s highest honour, the Service Above Self Award.
Handed to him by DG Robert and signed by RI President Ian HS Riseley, its presentation to Ken recognised his total commitment to helping others, his ongoing support for Foundation, and the volunteering of his time and thus his significant fundraising for charities like the Theodora Children’s Trust. Some might think the manner of achieving the later, such as dog-sledging across the Artic and kayaking the full 2,341 miles of the Mississippi River rather ‘crazy’, but then that’s ‘our Ken’ for you. A well-deserved award, only presented to one hundred and fifty around the world each year! The photograph shows Ken, DG Robert and President of the Rotary Club of Halifax, Canon Hilary Barber
