August – Membership and Extension Month.      

Dates for your Diary:

August  31st  – Final Date for the receipt of Conference Registration Forms, after this date the cost goes up to to £20 cover extra administration. The District Conference is in Plymouth from the 13th to the 15th October 2006.

Please register now if you haven’t already done so.

September 8th –Alumni Reunion – The Quality Friendly Hotel, Tongwynlais, Cardiff. Please contact District Alumni Officer Tudor Jones for details: Tel No: 029 2088 3316.

September 11th  - This is the new deadline for submission of suitable candidates for the GSE team going to South Carolina. Interviews will take place on 23rd September for candidates and mid-August for the Team Leader. Please contact Keith Moger at: keith.moger@btinternet.com for further details.

 VALEDICTIONS: We are very sorry to report the loss of Alan Britton of the Rotary Club of Morriston and PP John Tredwin of the Rotary Club of Risca. We extend our deepest sympathy to Alan & John’s family &  friends.

Personal Accident Insurance – Update from PDG Howard Griffiths – Despite extending the date for reply to the 30th June 18 Clubs have still not responded and 7 Clubs have said “No”. This represents 33% of the Clubs in our District who are not interested. Therefore, it has been decided that this District Insurance Policy will not proceed. We apologise to those Clubs who were keen to protect their members at Rotary Events on very favourable terms.
