It Is Worth A Look
Would you like to get fresh faces at your event
through wider publicity which costs nothing?
If so, join the 5,000 or
so organisers who promote their events on
Posting details takes a
couple of minutes - and, we repeat, costs nothing. Organisers and users love it
- after just over a year 31,000 events have featured and up to 14,000 visitors
a day log on for ideas of things to do. See for yourself at www.WhereCanWeGo.com

PS: By the way, here's
our October update sent to our family of Organisers - thought you

Update
October 2006

Numbers
Thanks to your support we passed 31,000 events posted
by the end of September - just 13 months after the service launched. So the
visitors to the service had an ever increasing choice of event ideas - judging
by the feedback we get this is proving ever popular. You'll see some of the
comments on a rotating basis on the home page. Our best day for visits was
14,000, and the rolling average is clearly on the fast-upward trend!
Half-term,
Hallowe'en, Firework Night!
With half-term looming fast in most schools (or
a happy recent memory in others!) and Hallowe'en and Firework night just
over the horizon it is likely that the period until Nov 5 will be one
of high levels of searching. Please get your upcoming events posted as soon as
possible...not forgetting Christmas and the New Year of course.
Google
We were pleased to be promoted to a PR5 Google rating
during September. This slightly techy accolade means that we should get further
up the page rankings on all kinds of searches, which in turn will bring more
visitors. This is important for your publicity of course, but also for the
service in general - we rely on visitors clicking on the Google ads to pay our
hosting charges etc.
Inbound
links
A special thank you to those of you who have set up
an in-bound link from your own website to www.WhereCanWeGo.com.This not only provides a useful information source to
your own users, but also helps get our service better known and in turn helps
the important Google rating (see above). So if more of you can do this it will
help all round - it's not difficult, just go to the Link to Us
tab on the home page. And please get anyone you know who has a website to do
likewise...thanks.
Bulk
events
If you have a lot of events coming up for 2007 and
have the details on a spreadsheet it may be possible to upload them for you to
save you time. There is no charge for the work our end for those who set up a
link to www.WhereCanWeGo.com or
if not much needs to be done - if it's very time-consuming it might be a few
pounds - please email to discuss the details.
Site
developments
i) You
will have noticed on the home page that we now offer users a general 30-day
event-search facility by major town. Early signs are that this is well-used, so
we'll extend it to other towns and areas as soon as we can. There's no need for
you to enter anything different, the system does the work!
ii) A number of organisers who run several events a
year have asked if their could be an alternative to the current Premier weblink
option, they find four pounds a time soon adds up. So we are thinking
of offering an annual option of twenty five pounds - all events
posted in that year will be upgraded. Obviously this would be more cost
effective for anyone running more than 6 events annually. We'll let you
know when this is available.
