District Council Meeting

There will be a District Council Meeting at Oakwood House, Maidstone on 19th September 2018, commencing at 7.15pm.

Pre-Council Meeting Sessions

(Arrival  at Oakwood House from 4pm)

Please note this will be a District Council Meeting with a difference.  Prior to the meeting there will be various activities. 

4.15 - 5.15 Dementia Awareness Session  

Become a Dementia Friend, meet Liz  Taylor from the  Alzeimers Association and  discuss the sort of sessions your club can organize with her to raise awareness within your local community, including schools, churches, businesses and other organizations or groups of friends. Perhaps  with the charities you are already supporting.

5.15 – 5. 45 pm   "Dads to work" and shop in a box the Purple Community Fund

Jane Walker will be there to  show the Work clothes which your club might be interested  in sponsoring so  dads in the Philippines can get back to work and support their families, including paying for school books and uniforms.  

5.45-6.15  Global Grants

Hear about  Global Grant projects being proposed by some of our very own Rotary Clubs (10 mins each )

  1. Bexley (North ) Fighting Kidney Disease in the UK Perfusion Machine  
  2. Heathfield and Waldron (South) Project Sanergy Sanitation Project 
  3. Herne Bay (East) Safer Anaesthesia Solar Powered Units
  4. North Downs  This project in SW Uganda  project will allow medical facilities to be expanded to include clinics for ante natal care, malaria prevention 

Chris Barnett (Foundation Chair) will also be available to answer questions about Foundation Projects.


There will be a buffet supper at 6.30pm
