Home | News | A New Club in the District !

The Inaugural Meeting of The Rotary Club Endeavour was held on 6th February 2008 at  Sneaton Castle Centre, Whitby, N. Yorkshire.

After a year of recruiting and a lot of team work by the members, The Rotary Club Endeavour, led by President Les Overton, was Inaugurated into Rotary International by DG Ken Robertshaw  in the old chapel at Sneaton Castle.

A total of 70 Rotarians from 21 Clubs supported our 23 members, from our district and beyond (Districts 1030 & 1190 were represented).

Our new President Les, as his first duty as President, presented a 40 year membership certificate to Colin Searby, one of our older members (quite a novel event).

Instead of any free meals, wine etc. the Club presented a Cheque for £100 to DG Ken for Foundation, and, by the time he had auctioned off the presentation place mats, that total had risen to a splendid £250.

Thanks go especially to DEO Robert Jackson and all the District Officers who have helped and supported the formation of the Club over the past year.

The Rotary Club Endeavour meets at Sneaton Castle Centre, Whitby, N.Yorkshire every Wednesday at 6.45 for 7.00pm.
