National Final Champion Tom Souter.jpgAt the National final held in London on 19th April, there were 8 finalists from as far afield as Yorkshire!! Northern Ireland and Wales,  3 young men and 5 young ladies. One of them was Tom Souter, sponsored by RC of Helmsley & District, who won the D1040 and Regional competitions. He won this one too!!

Tom's menu was:
Salad of Langoustines on a Marinated Goat's Cheese with Confit Cherry Tomatoes and a Citrus Mayonnaise
Plate of Duck served with Thyme Mash and Orange Sauce
Fresh Vanilla Pot served with a Compote of Rubarb
It looked as good as it sounds!
It was a fantastic day with such a high standard of menus from all the candidates. A very well run competition with a lot of parents, teachers and Rotarians present.
Tom seemed very cool throughout the day even though he went onto BBC News 24 before the competition started and again afterwards. A star in the making!
