Tony Jordan and Interact membersFollowing a visit to Batley Grammar school in July to meet the Interact club members at Batley Grammar school, District youth chairnman Tony Jordan fullfilled a promise to return in September at the start of the new school year to errect and demonstrate a shelter box.
The Interactors expressed an interest to adopt shelter box as their International project for this year and an actual full size shelter box tent was set up on the school stage for a special assembly and all the shelter box contents were set out in and around the tent. The exisiting Interact members wanted to have something special with high visual impact to show the whole school  just what an Interact International project was all about.

The Interact club recently donated funds raised from a non uniform day towards a shelter box to Borneo

For this assembly, Interactors acted as peer guides, displaying posters and giving out stickers and post cards featuring shelter box through into the morning break and at lunchtime. It was very well attended by all year groups in the school.

The Interact club was run for 10 years by former Head Teacher Brian Battye a member of Batley Rotary club up until his retirement from school. The new Head Teacher Brigid Tullie is keen to maintian and develop the Interact club at Batley Grammar.

Tony Jordan praised the school staff and Batley Rotary club for supporting Interact and said "Batley Grammar school has a great Interact club and long may it continue"
