Rotary Variety Performance
A Rotary Club of Medway production at Central Theatre, Chatham raising funds for Children's Hospice Holidaysthumbnail view
Our second variety show in March 2019 was a huge success raising over £4,000 for Rotary Children's Hospice Family Holidays.
As well as performances from solo singers Tony Lorenzo and Sarah Starkey, Rock Choir, Harmony, rock band Etcetera, Abbies Tappers, magician Tim Decker and pupils from the Pauline Quirke Academy, the audience was given an insight into the experience of the families who are guests on the annual holiday.
The 2019 families are all nominated from those supported by Ellenor Children’s Hospice. Ellenor provides hospice care and support to families facing terminal illness in Kent. Inevitably, the prospect of a family holiday is frequently beyond their means physically, mentally and financially. For this reason, The Rotary Club of Medway organises an annual holiday to Disneyland Paris, funded by Rotary Children’s Hospice Family Holidays with the families’ needs cared for by self-funding Rotarians and sponsored Hospice medical staff. The trip in May 2019 comprises seven families able to benefit from the experience.
