Purple Community Fund News

Latest form one of the DG's Charities

Welcome to our September edition of the Purple Press our update on all things Purple. It has been a tough few weeks for our families as they have been through another typhoon and now many of them are in desperate need of essential repairs to their homes.

In the wake of Typhoon Mangkhut hundreds of homes have had their roofs destroyed and families are now living in knee deep filthy water while they wait for it to subside.

Our partners Upskills Foundation, are making assessments but fear that hundreds of families have been effected and are in despearte need of help and support to repair their homes.

Basic roof and wall repairs cost approximately £75 per shanty so we are asking for donations for our emergency relief fund so we can try and help as many families as possible return their homes to more hospitable conditions.

It's hard to imagine how the community cope with their day to day living arrangements as it is, but now with all this damage, conditions have become unbearble especially for the very young, the sick and the elderly.

Thank you in advance for your help its our supporters like you that make a real difference to the lives of these otherwise forgotten families.
