A BIG THANK YOU FROM FORFAR ROTARY

Santa has now gone away for a rest as he has fulfilled his role with Forfar Rotary to visit as many of the streets as possible as well as his visit to the Cross. Now all that remains for him is to be fit for his big day on the 25th December.

The huge undertaking by Forfar Rotary over the last three weeks was carried out by club members who organised the whole programme, bringing Santa to the Cross, the switching on of the lights then a tour of Forfar's streets for four nights a week starting on 26th Nov. and finally a stint at ASDA and Tesco on Saturday 15 December.

This would not be possible without outside help and the club wish to thank the various group and clubs who helped on the nights round the town. They will have a financial reward to look forward to in January.

We are fortunate that large companies such as ASDA and TESCO give us local support and they donated all the sweets and oranges distributed at the Cross as well allowing us to collect at both stores where again they donated the sweets. Many Thanks to both companies.

However none of this would be worthwhile without the support from the good people of Forfar and we have been bowled over by your generosity. When times are hard and the future uncertain you think of others by freely giving your donations. Thank you to the followers who use Facebook and post how much you value what we do, it makes it all feel good. President Jim McCluskey assures you all that the money collected will be wisely distributed and put to good use by many clubs and organisations who will benefit by the donations received.

If you think we do a good job and are interested in being involved in Rotary where we would welcome potential members and associate members. Like so many organisations, we need fresh blood with new ideas to keep alive the motto of Rotary “ Service above Self “.
