TEST THE TOWN QUIZ RAISES OVER £7000 FOR LOCAL HOSPICE

 

The Bury Abbey Rotary Club hosted a Quiz Spectacular at the Corn Exchange in Bury St Edmunds in October.

The event was the brain child of members of the newly formed Club and was inspired by the success of "Test the Nation"

 Thirty-seven teams took part on the night, representing a broad range of businesses from the town.

They pitted their wits against each other both within and between business sectors for the Test the Town Team Challenge Trophy .

The overall winners were one of the teams from the Bury St Edmunds Rotary Club.

The Event also comprised an Auction, a Silent Auction and a Raffle which, together with the outcome from the Quiz, raised funds for the St Nicholas Hospice, this year's chosen Charity.

The Club intends this to be an annual event where the Teams will compete for the coveted Trophy and different local Charities will be selected to benefit from the funds raised.

The members of the Club wish to extend their thanks to all those who supported the function and donated prizes, all of which ensured a rewarding outcome from a successful and enjoyable evening.
