The Walk, now in its ninth year, is organised by The Rotary Club of Felixstowe Landguard to provide an event at which individuals and organisations can raise funds for their own good causes.

Sunday 15th April 2007 – The Colneis Walk - see walk website www.colneiswalk.org.uk for full information and to download forms.  This year we are delighted to welcome Celebrity Walker Julie Reinger, the weather presenter for BBC Look East who will take part in the walk.

NEW this year – 2.5 mile option especially for the younger walkers.

The Walk, now in its ninth year, is organised by The Rotary Club of Felixstowe Landguard to provide an event at which individuals and organisations can raise funds for their own good causes. Last year the total proceeds exceeded £4,000. Rotary asks for a 25% share of the funds raised for its Charity Account, which supports local, national and international causes. You donate the remainder to the charity of your choice.

A new 2.5 mile option has been added this year, especially for the younger walkers. There is thus a choice of four routes of different lengths on the Felixstowe coastline and in the attractive countryside of the Deben valley. This is part of the ancient Colneis Hundred – hence the title of the walk. The 5, 10, and 15 mile routes include sections not normally open to the public. We provide all the support necessary – all you have to do is get sponsorship, turn up on the day and choose a gentle 2.5 or 5-mile walk or the more challenging 10 or 15-mile options! Any walker not wishing to raise sponsorship is also very welcome to take part, and in this case we invite a nominal donation (we suggest £10 per adult). Simply turn up on the day if pre-registration is not convenient. The walk starts at the Brackenbury Sports Centre, Felixstowe, and we look forward to seeing you all there.
