Annual Multi-faith Walk of Peace and Friendship

Sunday 1st July 2007

The annual walk of peace and friendship between different places of worship in Hounslow takes place this year on Sunday 1st July.In one small area of central Hounslow it will be possible to visit a Jewish Synagogue, a Sikh Gurdwara, a Methodist Church and a Muslim Mosque and Islamic Centre.

Being such a diverse borough, the walk is a wonderful opportunity to visit buildings which people often only see from the outside.Visitors will meet representatives of each congregation and learn a little of the different faith traditions. There will be a short talk about the building, the community it serves and the way of worship.

The walk begins at 12 noon at Hounslow Synagogue, 100 Staines Road, (entrance in Cromwell Street), moving at 1.15 to the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Alice Way, Hounslow. It continues to Bell Road Methodist Church at 2.45 and concludes at the Jamia Mosque and Islamic Centre in Wellington Road South at 4pm.Refreshments will be available at each venue.
