Rotarians help Protect the Health of our Nation & our Communities

Mukesh Patel – Hatfield Rotary

Rotarians use their skills to help others.

Dr.John Ndikum, once sponsored by Stevenage Rotary to study for a masters degree at the Yale School of Public Health in America, now battles diseases like the Coronavirus, on the frontline back in the U.K. He records videos with subtitles for the hard of hearing & publishes papers & books.

Rotary Clubs organise health awareness days and support their local hospitals and hospices.

  • Rotary has a partnership with Carers UK and is helping to raise awareness of the charity and taking on volunteering roles. Many clubs also support Young Carers by organising days out.
  • Rotary, working with partners, provides blood pressure and hearing tests for local communities across Beds, Bucks and Herts.
  • Clubs wok with hospitals and hospices across Beds, Bucks and Herts, focussing on their needs.
  • Royston Rotary club runs a Memory Café where people with memory loss and their carers can visit and enjoy company, refreshments, memorabilia, entertainment, information, informal talks, singing and music all for free.
  • Many clubs support groups for older people by organising outings, special events, parties and meals.
  • Rotary is keen to support groups addressing mental health issues.
