Winner Roseanna McMahon  Comberton Village College preparing one of her dishes.

The event held at Comberton Village College for students in full time secondary education or on a NVQ1 course and 17 or under on 31 August 2008.

Students from Comberton and Impington Village Colleges,  The Highfield  School, Letchworth Garden City, King Edward Vl Upper School, Bury St Edmunds and West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds competed for two places in the District Final at West Suffolk College on 28th February.  Standards of cuisine were  very high and competition tough but enjoyable.

The students had 2 hours to prepare, cook and serve a three course meal for two people at an ingredient cost not exceeding £14.

The winner Roseanna McMahon prepared:

Tian of roasted vegetables with basil oil 

Stuffed fillet of plaice served with tiger prawn and spring onion salsa, duchesse potato, leek and baby carrots

Lemon mousse served with citrus confit
