  Valedictions: We are sorry to report the loss of FM Don Richards of Knighton & District RCand extend our deepest sympathy to Don’s family and friends   New members: Congratulations to the following Clubs for inducting new members and a warm welcome to them: Dewi Wyn Owen of Carmarthen RC; Michael O’ Hagan of Cowbridge RC; John Jones of Aberdare; Alistair Mackenzie of Narberth & Whitland; Ieuan Davies of Morriston RC (transferred from Lampeter).   Resignations: We are sorry to report the resignations of: Kenneth Jones and Paul and Denise Ringdahl from Brynmawr RC and Alan Robins as President and member of the RC of Cwmbran.

Young Musician District Final at The Millennium Centre, Cardiff on Sat 9thMay. District Assembly – Sunday 17th May at Metropolitan University, (Townhill Campus), Swansea, 09.00 – 13.00. All PE’s and incoming club officers for 2009-10 are urged to attend.   Fri5th June - Carmarthen Tywi, Charity Golf Tournament. District Council – the next meeting will be at Hirwaun on Thursday 11 June at 19.00. 21st - 24th June - R.I. Reminders:
Sat 31st May - date by which all clubs must have held their AGM for the purpose of existing committees to give their reports and to select new committees for 2009-10.   Clubs are reminded to complete the Members Proposal Form, including for transfers. Copies of the Form are available from the District Secretary and completed forms must be returned to him.   RYLA - final reminder.If any Club is considering sending someone will they please contact Hugh Clatworthy ASAP by email at:clatworthyhugh@aol.com  
Other news:
In April a unique honour was bestowed on one of Aberdare RC’s long serving members, Past President, Anthony Tal Williams MBE, JP, who was inaugurated as the new High Sheriff of Mid Glamorgan.Anthony has a long and distinguished career in service and is currently the Club Membership Committee Chairman.We all wish Anthony a successful term in office.   Abertillery RC wishes all other clubs to be aware that they were fined after their Bonfire Night “Extravaganza” for not having a Performing Rights licence in place to play music to the public.The Performing Rights Society are focussing such events and all clubs should check if a licence is required and obtain one in advance if music is to be played to the public.   Changes to the District Directory since January 2009 are attached as a separate document.   Martyn Dean, District Secretary, District 1150 05.05.09
