Tue 1st June 2021 - Celebrating the Club's 30th anniversary

It's Volunteers’ Week and a special anniversary for our Rotary Club as it's celebrating its 30th anniversary. Five of our original members are still in the Club. Each has received a commemorative certificate from the President of Rotary International.

Last weekend our members supported the Drive Thru for the Foodbank at Chester Road Baptist Church. Here are yesterday’s additional deliveries made to the George Road base.

A $1.125 million Global Grant from Rotary to Mercy Ships will supply vital equipment onboard the new hospital ship, the Global Mary, changing and saving lives for people living without access to adequate healthcare.

This morning our members were very pleased to join members of the Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Nsangi via Zoom to see the launch of the project at RCC Kibisi Village, Wobulenzi-Luwero. Villagers are pictured having just received their piglets.

Having the Mayor speak to us has become a popular annual fixture on our calendar.

Tue 13th October 2020 Donation to Leonard Cheshire Residential Home, Greenacres

Thanks to the support of our Rotary District the Club has been able to donate £375 to Greenacres, to go towards all the additional expenditure they have incurred with PPE and cleaning materials during the pandemic.

Tue 13th October 2020 - Support to Malawi during Covid - update

Face masks made for Embangweni Hospital have already exceeded 1,000. Staff are wearing them and insist patients wear them too. We have also donated for 20 hand washing buckets and lots of soap to the school. The solar lights we donated have now arrived.

Fri 9th October 2020 - Malaria Eradication Project

The Club has been pleased to support RC Nsangi and Rotaract Club of Nsangi with this project. Today we were able to use Zoom to see the presentation of the mosquito nets to the people of Kibisi Village, Kakikamu Sub-County, Luweero District.

We will not be holding a meeting this week. Instead members have the opportunity to hear Ellen MacArthur speak via Zoom. This is our DIstrict Governor's chosen charity.

Mon 14th September 2020 - Donation to Erdington Fodbank

The Club has donated a further £2000 to the foodbank. It includes a matching grant of £1000 from the Rotary Foundation District 1060 Foodbank Fund for which we are most grateful.

Some of our members took advantage of the Government’s offer and enjoyed a meal together at The Bull’s Head in Shenstone. Our Immediate Past President Dick Elston gave the Presidential Chain of Office to our new President John Baden.
