Tesco Collection for the Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria

Members at Brigg Tesco raising much needed funds for the Turkey/ Syria earthquake support. We collected £534 which with gift aid makes a fantastic £667 We have already supported shelter boxes and this collection will go directly to the disaster fund.

Brigg Inaugural Park Run

The inaugural Ancholme Valley Way parkrun attracted 222 participants. The formation of the event was sponsored by Brigg Rotary Club. Competitors came from far and wide such as Selby, Rotherham and Hull.

Bringing festive cheer to those in need at Christmas with over 100 hampers delivered. Thanks to Robert Horner, Bozena Allen and our delivery drivers but especially to the Vale Academy students for their very efficient packing and dressing of the boxes.

Rotary Meetings Return Post COVID-19

Rotary has not been together since March 2020 so it was a very welcome Rotary meeting at La Finca restaurant and courtyard in The Angel, Brigg. The Rotary club of Brigg first met in this building in 1968 and it was great to be back.

Giovanni Mineo or Fran! has worked for BBC in Hull and now has a position with Google. His passion is making short films available on YouTube; over the last few years he has produced 32 films. This one called The Beginning Hour features the 'living dead'.

Face masks for care workers

Brigg Rotarians have been delivering, much needed, facemasks to local Care Homes and Food Bank A Rotarian and Past President of the Rotary Club and Joe Henderson of Melton Ross have jointly funded 20,000 masks and we are very pleased to distribute them.

Chris Darlington, Freeman of Brigg, PHF and passionate campaigner for the eradication of Polio, and partner Roberta have been supporting Polio vaccinations in Amritsar, India. Congratulations to them and thanks to Amritsar RC for all their arrangements.

71 Hampers were packed and dispatched using food that was donated by local residents through collection points at Brigg Garden Centre, Barnetby Post Office, Thomas Bells, E-Cig World, Lovells and BUPA Dental Care. THANK YOU.

Hemswell Court. Speaker - Sean Rose is a disabled double Winter Paralympian as well as world skiing and water skiing champion; retired in 2013 from competitive skiing as Britain's most successful alpine ski racer.

Collection at Brigg Garden Centre raised £440, Gift Aid will increase it to £550. This will provide necessary relief for the victims. There are 79 deaths so far but many more in dire need with limited emergency aid and needing long term support. Thank you

John Lawton Memorial Defib

John Lawton's family with the help of LIVES and Brigg Rotary have installed a defib' machine sited in Brigg Market Place. This is a lasting memorial to John who helped to set up LIVES but sadly died of a heart attack. More pictures in the 'Photo Gallerie
